What is MyFreeWebsite?
MyFreeWebsite ™ is a new UK initiative offering website design and development services to British businesses. Our basic services are completely free and include everything you need to get your website done.
Is it really free?
Yes, our starter service is completely free with no setup fees or hidden costs. We don’t ask for any credit card or payment details, so you can rest assured you will not be charged.
Are there any costs?
Our basic service is completely free. We will build a website to your liking and you can add it to your chosen hosting. This is all you need to get online. Sometimes however, you may require more than just a simple web presence so we also offer a range of add-ons and upgrades to compliment your new website. You can find those listed on the Upgrades Page. If you find you’ve outgrow your current plan, you can upgrade at any time.
How is your business funded?
Because our base services are free, we rely on grants and donations to fund our project. Our premium services and optional hosting packages also help to fund our organisation and keep our basic services free for everyone! Furthermore, you can now buy squares on www.adboard.org.uk but remember, there is limited availability and once they’re gone – they’re gone!
Do you build websites for anyone?
We don’t allow adult sites or anything that promotes hatred or prejudice. We absolutely reserve the right to refuse any projects we deem unfit or unsuitable.
How long does it take to build my website?
The biggest delay is usually waiting for the content from our clients. As long as you have your text ready, we aim to have you online within a week. Depending on volume of work, this can often be much quicker. If you’re after an e-commerce website, this can sometimes take a little longer.
Is there a limit on the number of pages or info allowed?
Although there are no hard and fast rules, we have to restrict any unpaid work to a ‘reasonable’ allowance. We have obligations to all of our customers and must therefore carefully manage any work that we deem excessive or unreasonable.
Do I need web programming knowledge?
Absolutely not. That’s the beauty of MyFreeWebsite, we build the website for you!! Should you choose to add-on the CMS content builder option, we provide detailed instructions so that you can add your own content any time, even if you have no web programming experience.
How do I start?
Fill in our online Website Questionnaire and we’ll get straight onto it.
Do we provide images?
Yes, we can provide a large royalty-free image for your main banner image and where possible, smaller images for your body sections. Icons and background graphics are all provided free of charge.
Can I use my own images?
Yes. You can supply your own images for us to incorporate into your website. If you have the CMS add-on, you are free to add your own images as and where required.
Can we create online stores and catalogues?
Yes. MyFreeWebsite have built many e-commerce websites and our prices start at a very reasonable £500. Some private companies charge over £2500 for the same service.
What payment methods are included on the e-stores?
PayPal and Stripe are integrated with the shopping cart to help you with payment processing.
Can I make changes after go-live?
Unless you have purchased the CMS option, any changes after go-live will incur a cost. This is to cover the time spent scheduling the work, archiving the site, applying the changes and then testing the website.
Is there a minimum contract?
No, we don’t tie you in to any of our packages. All we require is a 30 day notice period. It’s that easy!
Do you provide technical support?
Yes, we offer UK based online support during office hours for all of our hosting packages. You can contact the team through at support@free-web.org.uk or via our live chat facility. In addition, our Pro hosting service includes priority support for out of hours service.
Can I upgrade my package at any time? What would happen during the upgrade?
Yes, you can upgrade your package at any time and upgrades will not affect the availability of your website.

What is a subdomain?
A subdomain is an internet domain which is part of a primary domain. We use sub-domains to piggy-back our free websites into separate mini-sites within the Free-web.org.uk domain space, which is how we can offer hosting for free. Example mywebsite.free-web.org.uk. If you wish to have your own dedicated domain name, try our premium Hosting packages.
Can I make changes after go-live?
